Mae’n anodd credu bod pum mis wedi mynd heibio ers i ni allu cwrdd ddiwethaf yn yr un ystafell i ymarfer. Drwy gydol y cyfnod hwnnw, ry’n ni wedi bod yn cwrdd o bell ar-lein i ganu ein hoff ddarnau, i ddysgu darnau newydd, ac i gymdeithasu â’n gilydd.

Heb os, yr uchafbwynt i ni dros y misoedd diwethaf oedd prosiect côr rhithwir yn un rhith – prosiect lle buom yn cydweithio â Chôr Dinas, côr merched Cymry Llundain, i berfformio darn newydd sbon o’r un enw gan y cyfansoddwr, Andrew Cusworth, ar eiriau englyn gan Dafydd John Pritchard.

I ddiolch i’r tîm creadigol am eu gwaith ar y prosiect, mae Côr ABC a Chôr Dinas wedi comisiynu gwaith celf gan yr arlunydd, Sioned Glyn. Gyda geiriau’r englyn wrth galon y gwaith, mae Sioned wedi creu triptych – tri darlun sy’n cysylltu’r dirwedd rhwng Aberystwyth a Llundain, gyda’r golygfeydd, fel y corau, yn creu un cyfanwaith er eu bod ar wahân.

It is hard to believe that five months have passed since we were last able to meet together in the same room to practise. Throughout this period, we have been meeting online from afar to sing some of our favourite familiar pieces, to learn new pieces, and to socialise with one another.

Without doubt, the highlight of the last months was taking part in a virtual choir project, yn un rhith – a project in which we worked with Côr Dinas, the women’s choir of the London Welsh, to perform a new piece of the same name by the composer, Andrew Cusworth, who set an englyn (a form of Welsh poetry) by Dafydd John Pritchard.

To thank the creative team for their work on the project, Côr ABC and Côr Dinas commissioned an artwork by the artist, Sioned Glyn. With Dafydd’s englyn at the heart of the work, Sioned created a triptych – three landscape scenes connecting Aberystwyth and London, with the separate scenes, like the choirs, creating a single work of art.

The original artworks were recently presented to the members of the creative team, and prints of the individual scenes are now available to order through the choir: A4 at a cost of £30 each and A5 at a cost of £20 each, with both prices including mounts.
